International Business Times Report

Melbourne, and indeed the entire state, was shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, and was the largest felt in 109 years. No injuries or serious damage was caused, apart from the subsequent crash of the Geoscience Australia website, which could not keep up with the public demand of information about the event. Timeliness is definitely needed in reporting this event, when information and reporting is demanded almost immediately after it has occured.
