The Afghani Goverfnment has accused the Taliban of intentionally poisoning schooling instututions that educate girls, as a statement against the education of women. The water supply or the grounds themselves were allegedly laced with poison, snuck in by bribing either other students or workers. In the past 3 weeks 6 schools have been affected in the northern Takhir province, and 15 people have been arrested related to the attacks. The number of students affected is unsure, but estimated to be in the hundreds. The attacks are thought to be an act of defiance against the government and the recent fact that girls can now gain an education, prohibited when the Taliban were in power in Afghanistan.
